Strengthening Cooperation for Sturgeon Conservation in the Black Sea Region

On 7 April 2026 the SturNet project will be presented at an international workshop in Constanța, Romania, organised by GeoEcoMar under the Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme.

The event will bring together researchers, institutions and stakeholders working in the field of marine biodiversity and environmental protection in the Black Sea region. The discussions will focus on the role of digital tools, innovation and cross-border cooperation in improving the monitoring and conservation of sturgeon species and their habitats.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the main results of the SturNet project, including the platform, the mobile application and the digital mapping tools developed to support data-based decision-making.

By connecting scientific research, policy and innovation, initiatives such as SturNet contribute to the long-term sustainability of ecosystems and to building stronger regional partnerships.
