Soil Day – The Connection Between Land and Seas

On 5 December we mark two important observances — World Soil Day and International Volunteer Day. These occasions remind us how important care for nature is, and how the efforts of people dedicated to its protection change the world. Soil and the seas are inextricably linked, and it is our responsibility to protect this balance.

Soil – The Foundation of Life

Soil is home to countless organisms that sustain ecosystems and purify water. It is the foundation of healthy terrestrial ecosystems, but its role reaches far beyond the boundaries of the continents.

Erosion of the soil often carries pollutants into the water, disrupting marine ecosystems. This is especially important for biodiversity in our country as well. Through efforts for sustainable soil management, we can protect not only life on land but also life in the Black Sea.

The Role of Volunteers in Nature Conservation

Volunteers and active civil society are at the heart of every biodiversity conservation initiative. From tree planting to educational campaigns for waste reduction — they are the engine of change.

Great changes begin with small steps.

We thank everyone who dedicates their time and effort to a healthier and more beautiful planet. Together we can protect the soil, the seas and life in all its forms!

Join our community and become part of the change!
