Celebrating International Plastic Bag FREE Day 🚫

Plastic bags are a convenience when shopping for groceries, but they are also a huge problem for the environment. It can take up to 500 years for them to break down, so they make up much of what remains in our landfills and pollutes our waters and ecosystems.

Plastic pollution is a serious problem that affects the environment and our health. In recent decades, single-use plastic has become an integral part of our daily lives, but this is certainly not without consequences.

Here are some facts:

  • Plastic is the most common waste in the sea.

  • Every minute, about 15 tons of waste end up in the seas and oceans, most of which is single-use plastic products.

  • In 2050, there could be 12 billion tons of plastic in the seas – more than fish

Join millions of people who are reducing their plastic waste. A plastic-free July® is a global movement that helps millions of people be part of the solution to plastic pollution – so we can have cleaner nature, oceans and communities.

Will you be part of a plastic-free July by choosing to refuse single-use plastics?
