Municipal planning and the conservation of coastal habitats will be considered together at an upcoming SturNet training. The Protection of Biodiversity in Bulgaria Foundation, the project coordinator, organises the training with the support of OPIMOS and invites representatives of coastal municipalities to work with the web platform and mobile application.

The session will take place in Burgas on 3 November 2026. It will focus on opportunities to consider information about sturgeons, their habitats and risk areas in the context of local planning and coastal-zone management.

Data and tools for municipal work

The programme combines an introduction to the project, a demonstration of the web platform and practical exercises with the SturNet mobile application. After exploring the tools, participants will consider opportunities to integrate them into municipal planning.

Topics include the use of data in coastal-zone management, the interpretation of risk areas and the incorporation of the digital tool into local environmental programmes. The training will close with an open discussion on applying the opportunities presented in the work of coastal municipalities.
